Two men have been arrested after a Sevenoaks pensioner was nearly conned out of their savings.
Police were called out to a bank in the High Street on April 1 after a pensioner tried withdraw large sums of money.
Enquiries revealed the man had been offered renovations to his home after a cold caller knocked on his door.
Works were carried out, but police are now investigating if the pensioner was exploited into paying over-the-odds.
On Wednesday a 27-year-old man from Edenbridge and another 27-year-old of no fixed address were arrested on suspicion of fraud by false representation.
Both have been bailed pending further enquiries until June 28.
Advice to deter rogue traders:
