One man has been charged and two stolen mobile phones recovered thanks to built in tracking software in the devices.
Officers were called at 11.37am to a report of a man acting suspiciously in Sevenoaks High Street on Sunday.
They attended and during their inquiries received a report of two mobile telephones being stolen from a staff-only area of one of the shops.
David Solly, 35, of Maida Road, Chatham, was arrested after being stopped in Seal Hollow Road.
He has now been charged with burglary.
The 35-year-old appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
Both phones had tracking software installed and were recovered in a nearby country lane.
