A 23-year-old who repeatedly kicked a man in the head while his father pinned him to the ground has been spared jail.
Joshua Satterley, of Willow Park, Otford, launched a sustained and vicious attack on Slawomir Chlebowski and Mariusz Czajkowski after a family dinner in Pembroke Road, Sevenoaks.
Satterley, a plumber by trade who previously pleaded guilty to two charges of assault, was walking to the taxi rank with his dad at around midnight when the incident occurred.
Sevenoaks Magistrates' Court today heard how Satterley could be seen kicking one victim in the head so hard his shoe came off.
He also punched the other victim to the ground before hammering his head five times with his fist.
CCTV captured three minutes of the assault, however does not show what sparked the violence.
James Nichols, prosecuting, argued the offences, which left both victims needing hospital treatment, were so serious they warranted a custodial sentence.
Andrew Main, defending, said the pair were reacting after Mr Czajkowski and Mr Chlebowski allegedly lashed out at them, leaving Satterley concussed.
He added the defendant, who he referred to as an impressive young man who was genuinely remorseful, could not remember the incident due to his head injury.
After hearing a probation report magistrates handed Satterley a one-year prison sentence, suspended for 24 months.
He will also have to pay £1,705 in compensation, £85 costs and a £80 victim surcharge, and was ordered to carry out 300 hours of community service and 35 rehabilitation sessions.
