Police are appealing for information after an elderly man reported having money stolen from his home by a bogus caller.
The 89-year-old victim opened his door to a man who claimed to be a new neighbour and who was carrying out repairs to a fence bordering their properties.
He was shown through to the back garden and then asked the victim to wait while he went back to his own side of the fence to pass some panels over the top.
Instead he is reported to have stolen cash from inside the man’s house that he had withdrawn to pay his bills.
The incident is said to have occurred in the Hever Road area of Edenbridge, shortly after 2.30pm on Tuesday, November 24.
Detectives have now released a computer-generated image of the suspect, who is described as being a stocky white man, 5ft 10in, with short brown hair and aged about 45.
