The Post Office has agreed to move the Borough Green office to provide a modern 'local' service.
Post Office local is a new concept for delivering services and the new branch would offer products and services from two open plan tills at the shop counter during shop hours instead of a separate screened counter.
There will be a separate queuing area for Post Office customers during peak periods.
Services will be available during the store’s opening hours, 8am to 9pm, seven days a week, so customers can visit when it is most convenient.
This will be an extra 45 hours a week more than previously offered, including all day Sunday and Saturday afternoon. The branch will also open earlier and close later every day
The actual date of relocation, which will take place next year, is yet to be announced.
Will Russell, regional network manager said: “We are making it easier for customers to get their cash, send and collect their mail and do their banking because we know how important these services are to local residents.
"We are confident this vibrant new-style Post Office at the heart of the community in Borough Greenwill be popular.
"The modernisation is part of a major Government investment programme enabling us to continue investing in the Post Office network and to map out a bold growth strategy to the end of the decade.”
