Residents have a chance to comment on plans for potential gypsy and traveller sites in Sevenoaks.
Pitches which have been put forward by landowners include Ash, Crockenhill, Edenbridge, Hextable, Swanley and West Kingsdown.
Sevenoaks District Council consulted on the first stage of the preparation of its Gypsy and Traveller Plan earlier this year.
The consultation sought views on potential site options across the district and asked landowners to suggest sites for additional pitches.
The council is now conducting a further consultation on the supplementary site options document which includes addition pitches submitted to the council.
Cllr Robert Piper, cabinet member for Planning, said: “Whilst the recent government consultation on Planning for Travellers proposes changes to how councils should meet accommodation needs for Gypsies and Travellers, including changing the legal definition of travellers, we are still duty bound under the current policy to prepare a plan to meet local needs, which requires consultation regarding possible sites.
“We have written extensively to local landowners in the district and this second consultation gives residents the chance to comment on new sites that have been put forward, and on already identified sites where additional pitches are being proposed.”
There will be drop in sessions in Rickards Hall off Edenbridge High Street today, Swanley Clocktower Pavilion, Swanley Town Council Offices on Tuesday, December 16 and in Sevenoaks District Council offices on Wednesday 14 January.
All sessions will take place between 4pm and 8pm.
The consultation lasts until Thursday, January, 22 and can be found online by visiting http://planningconsult.sevenoaks.gov.uk/consult.ti/GypsyTravellerPlanNov2014 or by emailing planning.policy@sevenoaks.gov.uk
