DETECTIVES are appealing for information following a serious sexual assault on a woman in her 40s.

Police say the incident happened at around 8.30pm on Thursday, October 18, in the area of Pilgrims Way, close to Otford Railway Station, near Sevenoaks.

A woman was walking from the rail station when she was assaulted by a man.

A police spokesman said: "We would like to hear from people who were in the area and anyone who saw anything suspicious around the time the incident occurred."
