The Sevenoaks Candle Company has won a trophy for the Best Home Enterprise at the Sevenoaks Business Awards last week.
It was awarded the trophy at the event held in Coolings Garden Centre in Knockholt on Friday, September 26 after being nominated in two categories.
Sevenoaks Candle Company founder, Laura-May Shayler received the award from Councillor Stephen Arnold and was delighted to have been recognised as a worthy winner.
Judges consisted of local councillors, news editors and company directors and decisions were made based on business growth, community involvement, customer service and marketing initiatives.
The awards were organised by Sevenoaks Town Partnership for the second year running and businesses from across the district were invited.
The candle company makes and sells highly scented soy wax candles in a variety of styles and colours.
Not even 2 years old, the company has grown from making a range of 8 scents to over 20 and with several stockists across Kent and the UK they are growing the business on a daily basis.
Laura said: "We are ecstatic to have received this wonderful accolade after such a short time in the public domain.
"We have worked incredibly hard building up the business over the last 18 months and doing so from home is never an easy task. To be chosen as a worthy winner among such well established businesses makes me feel extremely proud of what we have achieved.
"We wouldn't have been able to do this without the support of our local farmers' markets, loyal customers and wonderful stockists.
"Sevenoaks Candle Company is expanding rapidly and we are constantly working to introduce new product lines and attend more events. We like to support Kent events and farmers' markets; you can find us at several of these throughout each month."
