Ewe might not believe it, but a loose sheep completely stopped traffic on the M25 this afternoon.

Traffic officers were called to a section of the carriageway between J5 for M26/A21 Sevenoaks and J6 for Godstone to reports of a wandering animal.

Vehicles were halted in both directions while the sheep was captured.

Highways England said the animal has been safely returned to its field and traffic has been released.

Motorists were thanked for their patience.
