Sevenoaks is set to get a new restaurant and it will be in a 16th century building.
Known simply as No 8, it will open in January at No 8 London Road.
The venture is the inspiration of chef Stuart Gillies, who will run the business with his wife Cecilia. They promise: "A family-run business with lots of local charm."
The 16th century venue occupies a corner site that opens onto a courtyard terrace for al fresco dining when the weather allows.
Mr Gillies has set taste buds watering with talk of dishes such as whipped cod’s roe with a sprinkling of hazelnuts, confit leg of Goosnargh duck, roasted ceps and fettucine of Dorset crab, chilli, spring onions, garlic.
The restaurant will include a separate private dining space for up to 16, called The Gallery, for those looking for a more discreet dining experience. The Gallery will combine as an exhibition space for up and coming young artists.
The couple already run Bank House in Chislehurst High Street.
