The trial of a theatre boss accused of sexually abusing a teenage girl has been stopped.
Jamie Wilson, 35, of Worships Hill, Sevenoaks, faced five charges of indecent assault dating back more than a decade.
A jury at Maidstone Crown Court had only heard the prosecution’s opening speech when it was discharged on Tuesday
Judge Philip St.John-Stevens told the eight women and four men that the alleged victim was not “well enough” to give evidence.
He thanked them for their “time, patience and understanding”.
No new date for the trial was fixed, although the case will be listed for an update on July 3.
Wilson, who was running Magic Beans Productions when he was charged in April last year, was released on bail until that date.
The theatre company has staged several productions, including star-studded pantomimes, at the Stag Theatre in Sevenoaks, The Woodville in Gravesend and The Orchard in Dartford.
While discussing when the new trial was likely to go ahead, defence counsel Louise McCarroll told the court that November and December were to be avoided as those months were Wilson’s “busiest time as an actor”.
