Two die in head-on motorbike smash

Two young men have died after two motorbikes crashed head-on in Kent.

The two bikes collided at just after 8pm on Tuesday night on the A25 at Seal Road, Sevenoaks, near Shell petrol station.

A black and red Aprilia motorbike and a red Honda motorbike collided head-on, leaving one of the riders, a 17-year-old local boy, fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene.

The other motorcyclist, a 23-year-old local man, was taken to hospital in Farnborough, where he later died from his injuries.

A white Citroen Berlingo van travelling towards Sevenoaks was also slightly damaged.

The road was closed while emergency services including Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit dealt with the incident and was reopened around 1.30am on Wednesday.

Investigating officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for any witnesses to come forward. Anyone with information is asked to contact the witness appeal line on 01622 798538.
