A newly elected Oxford professor will be among the writers heading for Sevenoaks this autumn for the town’s annual book festival.
Simon Armitage will appear at the Sevenoaks Literary Celebration which is now more than a decade old.
This year the event will include other top novelists including Andrew O’Hagan and Kate Mosse.
Tickets for the weekend, running from September 25 and October 10, will go on sale at Sevenoaks Bookshop in the High Street on Saturday, August 1.
The 2015 celebration's menu includes a traditional literary lunch and tea and an evening of new short stories performed by professional actors, and a film night.
The organisers of this year’s festival are delighted to welcome Andrew Lownie, whose long-awaited biography of the spy Guy Burgess is published in October.
Fans of 'Wolf Hall'will get the chance to hear about the real Thomas Cromwell from his biographer Tracy Borman.
The programme, taking place at a variety of venues in and around Sevenoaks, also includes two free events for local schools.
