WEST Kent police are appealing for witnesses to an accident in Tonbridge Road, Sevenoaks, in which an elderly woman suffered fatal injuries. The 81-year-old woman, who lived locally, was crossing Tonbridge Road near its junction with Solefields Road at about 10.40am on Saturday when she was in collision with a silver Ford Fiesta hatchback travelling towards Sevenoaks town centre.

The woman was taken to hospital but died later that day. The car driver received hospital treatment for shock.
