Conway has a race to forget

Mike Conway battled to a ninth place finish during the second race of the GP2 in Hockenheim, but had a first race to forget.
Saturday’s opener began in the dry but a deluge of rain late in the race cost several drivers their place in the race including Sevenoaks’ Mike Conway.
There were just a handful of laps remaining for Conway before he span out of a possible points position.
Worse followed for Conway after his failure to finish when he, along with two other drivers, received a ten grid place penalty after failing to slow under yellow flags in the latter stages of the race.
Race winner Romain Grosjean was guilty of passing under a yellow and victory handed to Giorgio Pantano.
Conway subsequently started 24th on the grid for Sunday’s sprint race and clawed his way through the pack to eventually finish in a respectable ninth place. Karun Chandhok took the win.
