MIKE CONWAY’S Formula 1 dreams took a step closer after being named as one of Honda F1 team’s Young Drivers.
The 24-year-old recently tested Honda’s brand new RA108 machine at Valencia, Spain and will join Luca Filippi as the team’s Young Driver line-up.
Honda F1 will host a number of Young Driver evaluation days, which will be used to allow Conway to develop his driving skills and assist the team with the team’s testing requirements
Conway, a former British F3 champion, will start his second season in the GP2 series next year with Trident Racing.
While looking to make a mark in GP2, Sevenoaks-racer Conway will work closely with the team and Honda race drivers Rubens Barrichello and Jenson Button along with reserve racer Alex Wurz.
Conway said: “I’m very much looking forward to this year and it will be very rewarding to be able to contribute to the development of the car. I drove the RA108 in Valencia which was fantastic so I’m looking forward to the next opportunity.”
