SEVENOAKS ladies had to fight back from a two-goal deficit to win their opening National League Division 2 South match.
Opponents St Albans went into the break 2-0 up, but a second half hat-trick from Anna Graham turned the match around, to give Sevenoaks a 3-2 win.
Graham scored her first just minutes into the second half after slotting in a rebound from a penalty corner.
Justine Brown set up Graham’s second to level the game and late in the game the turnaround was completed to take all three points.
Sevenoaks nearly got a fourth as Bex Goulstone’s reverse stick was well saved in the dying minutes.
MAIDSTONE also got off to a winning start in the South Division after beating Woking 4-2.
Jody Goodwin had given Maidstone a one goal advantage going into the break, and shortly after the interval Kirsty Hotson doubled the advantage, scoring from a penalty corner.
Woking hit back with a goal of their own but Jessica Cremin restored the two goal advantage in the 47th minute. Soon after Hotson scored her second, to put the match beyond the hosts, who netted a consolation goal on 66 minutes.
