A diner has reopened more than two weeks after undergoing a huge makeover.

Arizona Diner on Sheerness High Street closed in mid-March and expanded into the neighbouring building, replacing the former Jacksonwood Vintage Tea Rooms which moved along the high street.

It has now reopened as Arizona Diner and Cocktail Bar - doubling in size and offering the cocktails too.

Run by business partners Muzo Tasdogan and Mez Quaye, the pair believe the new changes will give a more contemporary feel.

Ms Quaye said: "We've expanded the restaurant to have double the amount of space available and we've completely changed the décor of the restaurant.

"It still keeps the American theme with some of the food.

"But we have completely changed everything from the ceiling to the floor to give it a more modern, but still cozy feel.

"We have always struggled with having enough space during the busier hours so when we found an opportunity to expand the restaurant, we thought that it was an ideal chance to refurbish. We haven't had many changed for about eight years.

"Due to our increased space, we will be able to take more people, especially during special occasions such as holidays, however this also means we can take bigger groups and possibly even arrange private parties."

As well as having more colour and space, the eatery has also transformed its menu.

The improvements, which will reportedly include the Island's first Turkish breakfast, has allowed the team to offer a more varied menu.

"We have added a lot more options for vegetarians, plus more drink options such as some new spirits and cocktails," Ms Quaye added.

"This includes the strawberry daiquiri and piña colada, as well as smoothies and frappes for the summer.

"Most of all though we have added a Turkish breakfast, which isn't served anywhere else on the Island, for those wanting to try some other cultures, with further international foods coming soon.

"I fully believe that the new appearance and menu will help appeal to more people in Sheerness, fellow businesses nearby, and also to those looking for a new place to visit."
