Man arrested after woman and children approached in Leysdown Promenade

Police are investigating after a man approached a woman and her children on the Isle of Sheppey.

A man is said to tried to engage with the woman and her children in The Promenade, between Manor Way and Grove Avenue, in Leysdown on Tuesday.

The incident happened in Leysdown Promenade

It happened at around 5.30pm and police have said he then left the area on foot.

A 43-year-old man from Sheppey was arrested in connection with the incident on the same date.

He has since been released on bail, pending further investigation, until Saturday, June 12.

Officers are investigating the full circumstances, which includes speaking to several witnesses and reviewing CCTV.

The force believes there were several people in the area who may have information that can help.
