Kent Highways is considering changes to a busy junction.

Members of the Swale Joint Transportation Board will discuss plans for the traffic lights near Sheppey Rugby Club on Lower Road in Minster

It follows years of complaints about the performance of the signals and the fact queues of vehicles often reach back to the A249.

The proposal is to ban right turns into Barton Hill Drive from Lower Road – for traffic heading in the direction of Cowstead Corner – to make the junction more efficient.

The board will discuss the plans on Monday and, if members agree, there is likely to be a public consultation.
