"My husband is very lucky to be alive and just has a broken leg and exhaust burns which he will need skin grafts.

"He is very shaken up but doing ok."

Roads heading to the BP garage were closed while emergency crews worked

She added: "A big 'thank you' to everyone who was there.

"His bike was his pride and joy. He's been riding all his life.

"It was a customised bike that's been on many rallies and will sadly be missed as it's unrepairable."

Police, firefighters and medics, including an air ambulance doctor, were called.

Fire crews found Mr Huggett, who is 57-years-old, trapped under the lorry and had to use 'heavy rescue cutting gear' to free him.
