Up to 15 queens from across Kent are expected to visit the Isle of Sheppey for the Island's annual summer carnival tomorrow.
Carnival queen Emily Pope and her court will be there to greet them on their award-winning Under The Sea float.
Emily, 13, from Minster and who goes to Highsted Grammar School in Sittingbourne, has been representing the Island since she was crowned in February.
Her princesses are Faith Chawner, 16, from Queenborough and Abigail Bolt-Mead, 13, from Minster.
Abigail, who attends Westlands School, Sittingbourne, made history last year by becoming the first girl in a wheelchair to join the court.
Darcey Kidd, 12, of Halfway, is Junior Miss Sheppey with princesses Keira Collins Kiazim, 11, from Warden and Georgia-May Conway, 13, of Halfway.
Sheppey Rosebud is Poppy Holland-Rowe of Eastchurch who will be eight on carnival day.
The Royal British Legion Youth Band will be making a return to Sheerness for the parade.
Treasurer and chief chaperone Joan McCall said: “It will be the first time Tesco has entered a float since I became involved with the carnival in 2002.”
It is something of a family affair for the McCalls. Joan’s husband Bob is chairman, their daughter Lauren is vice-chairman and their son Lee is secretary.
There will be stalls in Sheerness Broadway all day.
Judging will take place in New Road, Sheerness, from 4.30pm.
Floats and pedestrians in fancy dress can enter on the day.
Parade route
The parade leaves at 4.30pm and goes along Millennium Way into Trinity Road, Marine Parade, Alma Road, Cavour Road and back into the High Street where Swale’s Mayor Cllr Colin Prescott will take the salute at the clock tower.
Also taking part will be Inspirations Dance Group, Rushenden Community House, Go Ape from Maidstone, Castle Connections and custom car clubs.
When the queens leave for a ticket-only dance at Sheerness East Working Men’s Club the carnival atmosphere will continue in Sheerness with a funfair and fireworks at Beachfields provided by amusement arcade owner Thomas Holland.
