Classic car collector Tom Lambkin has died. He was 88.
Mr Lambkin, a respected Mason and retired businessman, was a familiar sight at motor shows on Sheppey and around Kent. His favourite motor, a 1947 Daimler limousine with the number plate HRH 1 would never fail to turn heads.
It had been presented to Princess Elizabeth and Prince Phillip as a wedding present in 1952 by the Royal Air Force and Women's Auxiliary Air Force.
It was later sold and used by many owners before being bought by a motor museum in Colorado, USA, in 1963.
The car was returned to the UK in March 1989 after a series of long negotiations.
Mr Lambkin died peacefully at this home in Parsonage Chase, Minster, on Christmas Eve.
His funeral was at the Garden of England cemetery at Bobbing on Thursday at 1pm.
He requested only family flowers but donations can be sent to the RAF Benevolent Fund or the United Masonic Club, Sheerness, via Havill Funeral Services.
