Workmen have been altering the driveway to the controversial Seager Road housing development in Sheerness.

Campaigner Susan Holmes said: “Despite an enforcement notice being served on this site, workmen were there all last week – and heavy plant has been delivered.

“I have asked Swale planners to tell me what is going on.”

The Planning Inspectorate has now confirmed that Moat Housing, which has built 27 houses and eight flats on the site off Marine Parade, has lodged an appeal against Swale council’s demand to have the homes pulled down because they flout agreed plans.

A public inquiry will now be heard.
