Man arrested on suspicion of drug driving after police follow car with cloned plates to Sheppey holiday village

A man has been arrested on suspicion of drug driving after police trailed a car with false number plates.

At around 11am today officers were informed the vehicle with cloned plates was travelling on the A2 at Greenhithe.

A pursuit was authorised and police trailed the vehicle for almost 40 miles all the way to a holiday village on Leysdown Road in Leysdown on the Isle of Sheppey.

Once the vehicle was safely stopped officers then arrested a 40-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drug driving.

He has since been released from custody pending further enquiries.
