Sheerness: Police hunt two men who over attempted robbery in Church Road, Eastchurch

Police are hunting two thugs who attacked a man from behind and tried to rob him in Eastchurch.

The victim - a man in his 40s - was set upon while walking along talking on his mobile phone.

He fought back and one of the men ran off down Church Road towards the High Street. The other ran off in an unknown direction.

Nothing was stolen and the victim reported bruising to his right cheek and wrist.

Both of the men are believed white, 5ft 6in to 5ft 8in tall and of medium build.

One of them had scruffy dark hair and was wearing a black hooded top with the hood down, black tracksuit bottoms with white stripes down the sides and black trainers with a red heel strap. The other had dark clothing.

The attack happened in Church Road between 12.50pm and 1.30pm on Saturday, February 17.
