A Sheerness business hopes that it can employ more people from the Island after it moved its services to a single location.

Newly-formed Tiger Group, formerly Tiger Tyres, used to be based in Blue Town but has re-opened in Brielle Way.

The company currently has an all-Islander staff and has a policy of employing people who live on Sheppey and is starting an apprenticeship scheme for young people.

Manager Mike Cunningham hopes that putting the servicing, exhausts, valeting and car washing facets together, will help them to grow.

He said: “We are now a lot more visible, we have got a lot more passing traffic so we should expand.

“The more business we do, the more employees from the Island we can take on.”
The company started off in Hackney, London, and moved to the Island two and a half years ago.

MP for Sittingbourne and Sheppey, Gordon Henderson, showed his support for the company by helping to cut the ribbon on Saturday.
