After a quiet few weeks, generous fundraisers have started organising events to raise money for a poorly toddler again.

Since June, we have been campaigning to help the family of Oliver Smith raise £150,000.

The three-year-old has the childhood cancer neuroblastoma and the money is to pay for treatment he could need in Germany if his condition gets worse.

His mum Natalie, of Coral Road, Minster, wants to have the money in place as there is an 80-95% chance of Oliver relapsing and needing the treatment until he is 20.

So far, through donations and events, our readers have raised £67,222.

Two events due to be held this weekend look set to boost the total even higher.

Tomorrow (Saturday), Bounce DMT and Trampoline Club has organised a charity bounce.

It will take place at the small sports hall of the Isle of Sheppey Academy’s east site in Minster Road, Minster, from 9.30am to 1pm.

Anyone is welcome to go along and try trampolining and there will also be a cake sale and other fun and games. The suggested donation is £2.

Organiser Angela Thomas said: “I saw about Oliver on Facebook and thought we could help out because we have a community club.

“It breaks my heart – it’s so sad and that’s why we want people to come and take part.”

On Sunday, an open pairs darts competition is due to take place at the Queen’s Head pub in High Street, Sheerness.

Anyone is welcome to join in and it costs £6 per pair.

To take part, you need to register by 2pm and it starts at 3pm. There will also be a raffle and auction.

The event is for the Barry Friday Memorial Trophy, which was set up 20 years ago in memory of Mr Friday, who used to play darts on Sheppey before he passed away.

On Friday, April 20, there will be an Old Skool Garage Night at Tantra nightclub, off Bridge Road, Sheerness.

As well as a host of DJs and MCs there will be guest appearances from some of the cast of The Only Way Is Essex.
