A total of eight acts performed at a music benefit in aid of a schoolboy who was hit by a car.

The Halfway House pub, at the junction of Halfway Road and Queenborough Road, hosted the gig on Saturday.

Taking to the stage were Jaclyn Gage, Tom Nundy, The Narratones, Beggars Belief, Shameful Behaviour, Rapture, Andy Carter and Born to Nothing.

It has so far raised an estimated £600 for the Smiles4Miles appeal, in aid of 13-year-old Miles Rogers.

He suffered a severe brain injury when he was hit by a car outside Sheppey Rugby Club in October 2011 and the money will go towards equipment to help with his rehabilitation.

The fundraiser, which was held in association with Roadhouse Recording Studios in Sheerness, also included a tombola, barbecue and face painting and magic from Matty Evans.

Manager Sarah Lewry said: “It was absolutely brilliant. Thanks to everyone that came and supported and to everyone that donated. Lots of local businesses gave us prizes as well.”
