Kent County Council (KCC) said the route will be shut between 7pm and 5am from Monday, February 1, with estimated completion by Saturday, February 6.

A spokesman said: "The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway resurfacing works are undertaken by KCC.

"The alternative route for any through traffic is via High Street, Millennium Way, Bridge Road, A249 Brielle Way, Main Road, Queenborough Road, Halfway Road and vice versa."

The works follow similar work undertaken at the other end of the High Street in April last year.

Details of all roadworks and closures scheduled across the county can be found in our Public Notices section in print or online, along with a host of other announcements ranging from alcohol licence requests to planning applications; probate to public rights of way.
