A Sheppey business is hoping it can keep a flag flying for England after they play Uruguay in a potential qualifying group decider tonight.
Sharrocks, an insurance broker in Sheerness High Street, has decorated the outside of the windmill where its office is based with the colours of the 32 nations taking part in the World Cup.
When one of them is knocked out of the competition their standard is ceremoniously dropped from the gantry to the ground, which is filmed and put up on the firm’s Facebook page.
Last night claimed the tournament’s first three casualties as Spain, Australia and Cameroon were all booted out.
Although Roy's boys could lose tonight and still go on to qualify, anything but a win would leave their fate out of their own hands.
Managing director Alan Doucy has also bought his staff England shirts for them to wear to work.
He said: "Come on England. Let's hope we do not have to post a video of the St George's Cross descending from the windmill gantry early."
England versus Uruguay kicks off tonight at 8pm on ITV.
