Young Island actor Toby Turpin is set to appear in a TV advert in the coming weeks.

Viewers will see the 14-year-old play a moody teenager in a commercial for the chain Novotel Hotel when it is shown on Channel 5 in the new year.

As well as this, Toby is looking forward to taking on the lead role of Link Larkin in the production Hairspray at The Orchard Theatre in Dartford in April.

He will also make an appearance at The Edinburgh Festival next summer where he will play the part of Evan in the production of 13.

The performer, of Scarborough Drive, Minster, appeared as the star of the music video which went to the dance song Vargo by Radio 1 DJ Danny Howard and the Futuristic Polar Bears.
