A main road on the Isle of Sheppey has now reopened after a lorry jackknifed.

The HGV came off Lower Road in Minster, near the junction with Elmley Road at Brambledown, and went into a hedge.

Emergency crews, including three fire engines, were called shortly before 11.30am.

Scocles Road in Minster closed to allow recovery of a lorry.

A spokesman for Kent Fire and Rescue Service said: "Our crews helped to stop a fuel leak.

"The casualty was already out of the vehicle when we arrived.

"Police are also at the scene. They are liaising with EDF Energy to make sure the power cables are secure before they recover the lorry."
