The Sheerness RNLI was called to a small yacht in trouble but got more than they bargained for when it turned out to be a huge cabin cruiser.

The volunteer crew launched new inshore boat, Buster, at 6.55pm last night to reports of a six metre yacht that had broken down off Sheerness.

Instead they arrived to find a 10.5 metre cabin cruiser called, Miracle.

Buster towed back the cabin cruiser, Miracle

The vessel, with one man on board, was broken down and at anchor after suffering engine failure.

A tow line was attached and the vessel and the cruiser was towed to safety in Queenborough Harbour.

ILB Helmsman Kris White said: "This really put Buster to the test as this was a large and heavy boat and with the fresh easterly wind at the time it was a case of slowly does it”.

The ILB was back on station and ready for service at 8.32pm
