Man charged with dangerous driving after car crashes into house in Broad Street, Sheerness

A man has been charged with dangerous driving after a car smashed into a house.

The crash happened in Broad Street, Sheerness, at around 5.30pm on Saturday (June 15).

Gavin Morland, of Cecil Avenue, Sheerness, was later charged with dangerous driving.

The 57-year-old appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court where he was bailed to a hearing at Maidstone Crown Court, on a date yet to be confirmed.

The road was closed while the emergency services dealt with the aftermath.

A police spokesman said: “Kent Police was called at 5.21pm on Saturday, June 15 to reports that a car had collided with a residential property on Broad Street, Sheerness.

“Officers attended the scene with colleagues from Kent Fire and Rescue and the Southeast Coast Ambulance Service.

“A 57-year-old man was arrested at the scene.”
