A man's jaw was broken after he was attacked when leaving a supermarket.

The 22-year-old was leaving the Co-op store in Main Road, Queenborough, when it is believed he was hit on the back of the head.

He was left with a broken jaw which needed surgery to repair.

Kent Police are appealing for witnesses to the assault, which happened between 5.30pm and 6pm on Thursday, May 26.

They are keen to speak to a man driving a VW camper van who stopped and helped the victim by calling an ambulance.

Investigating officer DC Gary Seamark said: “He walked out of the shop and the next thing he can remember is being helped by a passer-by after the assault.”

“We would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen the assault or events leading up to it.”
