There is still time to warm up those vocal chords for a marathon singing event to raise money for Comic Relief.

Sheppey Folk and Blues Club aims to have people singing continuously for 12 hours, from 11am to 11pm, on Saturday, March 9.

Anyone can pay £2 to enter Minster Working Men’s Club, Union Road, Minster, and those brave enough to get on stage can pay an extra £1 per song.

The club is also inviting choirs, schools, bands, poets, musicians, storytellers and comedians to fill some of the slots with songs, poems, stories, tunes or jokes.

Club member Graham White said: "We haven’t done a charity event before and we have been running eight years.

"So my main aim is for this to be an annual event."

Call Mr White on 07990 828114 or visit Minster Working Men’s Club.

The doors will open at 10.30am.
