A charity wants to thank a mystery woman after she dropped off the biggest donation of food it has ever received from an individual.
She and a man went into the Family Food Bank, at Seashells Children and Families Centre in Rose Street, Sheerness, last week and handed over eight bags and two boxes of shopping.
The benefactor, who had a foreign accent, said she was unemployed but had asked people to buy the goods for her birthday because she wanted to help.
She left before anyone could get her name.
Receptionist Jo Brown said: “The bags just kept coming. They literally cover the whole of the area that we set aside for donations.
“A huge thank you to her.”
The Family Food Bank distributes free goods to families in need on Sheppey, in Sittingbourne and other parts of Kent.
