Police helicopter involved in search over Minster

Two men were arrested on suspicion of assault following an extensive police search involving dogs and a helicopter.
Officers was called shortly before 5.50am following reports of two assaults at separate addresses in Alexandra Road, Sheerness.
Police and paramedics went to the scene where a man was treated for serious injuries before being taken to hospital.
Officers assisted by the dog unit and police helicopter then conducted an extensive search of the area and subsequently arrested two people, a 32-year-old local man and a 34-year-old man from Swanscombe, in Minster on suspicion of assault.
They remain in police custody.
Eyewitnesses said they saw officers at the Thistle Hill Way estate, looking for suspects who had fled from a van, which crashed into a block of flats.
Residents said officers had told people to stay indoors and keep their doors and windows closed.
Police officers are not looking for anybody else at this stage and enquiries are on-going.
