Police are holding a special surgery for worried residents following an aggravated burglary.

Yesterday, detectives announced they had charged a man following a break-in on the Isle of Sheppey in the early hours of Saturday where a woman was assaulted.

Michael Hanmore, 43, of Queenborough Road, Minster, has been charged with burglary and theft of a motor vehicle and remanded in custody to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on June 7.

Today, police officers Jake Marsh and Owen Taylor are to hold a local engagement meeting at The Rise in Queenborough Road from 5.30pm to 7.30pm.

A social media post invites residents to "come and speak to your local officer about your concerns on crime and anti-social behaviour."

Swale councillor Cameron Beart, who represents Queenborough and Halfway, said: "Following recent events in Halfway, Kent Police will be holding a local surgery at The Rise. Please come along and voice any concerns you may have, no appointment necessary."

Forensics officers from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate spent four days sifting through evidence and taking away plastic bag in police vans.
