A video featuring Sheppey schoolchildren miming to an Ed Sheeran song has been racking up views on YouTube.
Year 5 and 6 pupils from Queenborough Primary School made the clip for The Songwriting Charity, which works in schools to encourage youngsters to make their own music.
Since the footage was uploaded onto the video sharing website on Sunday, January 4, it has been viewed more than 800 times.
The school works closely with Nathan Timothy from the charity and he contacted staff after chart-topping superstar Ed Sheeran asked fans to film themselves miming to his song Thinking Out Loud for an online campaign called Miming Out Loud.
Assistant head Jason Howard said: “I think it’s fantastic really. They come across as so confident and that’s the great thing about working with the Songwriting Charity. They always bring out the best in our children.
“You see children who you might not have thought would want to perform coming forward.”
The whole school was also recently involved in filming a video of the massively popular song Let it Go from the Disney film Frozen and Mr Howard said parents have keen to come in after school to see it.
There is a possibility the Island children might make it onto a new official music video being made for the song out of extracts from some of the best miming submissions.
The school recently tweeted a link to the YouTube page to Amy Wadge who co-wrote Thinking Out Loud with Ed Sheerhan.
She replied by saying “absolutely love the video massive congrats to all xxx”.
