A Sheerness man appeared at Medway Magistrates Court yesterday charged with three counts of shoplifting.
Richard Allum, 47, of St George's Avenue, pleaded not guilty to the offences and one count of an attempt to shoplift.
The case was adjourned and he was remanded in custody.
He is due to appear before Maidstone Magistrates on Wednesday, June 17, for a plea and case management hearing.
Allum was arrested on Tuesday night after a police helicopter search of Sheppey and Sittingbourne for a vehicle wanted in connection with a number of reported thefts.
