Drivers will be forgiven for thinking the heat has gone to their head after giant bananas have been spotted.

At least two people were seen roaming around the area of Scocles Road, Minster, over the weekend, with one onlooker calling the scene bizarre.

It is thought they have returned to the roadside today after being out over the hot weekend, where temperatures almost hit 30C.

It is not thought to be drumming up money for charity but making people laugh as they drove by.

Antoinette Ayers posted on Facebook to say: "My boys are out to make you chuckle... support your local banana men and give them a wave."

Some commenters expressed concern for their welfare in the heat while others said how much it made them chuckle.
