Faversham man Levy Deeprose charged with carrying imitation firearm following disturbance in Berridge Road, Sheerness

A man has been charged with carrying an imitation firearm in public following a disturbance.

Levy Deeprose, of Newham Lane, Eastling, Faversham, has also been accused of using threatening and abusive behaviour.

The 25-year-old has been bailed to appear at Maidstone Magistrates’ Court on April 27.

Police were called to an incident near Berridge Road, Sheerness, at around 6.50pm on Friday.

Officers attended the scene and arrested a man in nearby Alma Road, suspected of possessing the fake weapon.

Facebook users reported multiple police cars with sirens sounding in the area.

There were also reports Berridge Road was closed off, however, this was not confirmed by police.
