There are many places holidaymakers can stay in Kent. But now there is a surprise new destination.

It comes fully taxed and with its own MOT.

For £8 a night you can snuggle down on the back seat of single mum Desiré Cyprien's Nissan Juke.

It is believed to be the cheapest Airbnb in the UK.

If you want a bit more 'sheer' luxury for the same price, you can stay in a one-person tent pitched on the patio of her back garden in Sheerness on the Isle of Sheppey.

Both come with a chemical toilet hidden in another tent.

The toilet comes with loo bags for the waste which can be left by her back door for disposal later.

Miss Cyprien, 27, who has a baby daughter, says the accommodation is ideal for anyone wanting to take advantage of the nearby Blue Flag beach.

Guests, she says, can take a shower at the Sheppey Leisure Complex just a short stroll away.

The car comes complete with an inflatable mattress, its own clothes hanger and cooler bag with plenty of room for luggage in the boot.

There is "access" to an electric power-point in her garden. Privacy is ensured by the car's tinted rear windows and a sunshade on the windscreen.

The car is secured with a wheel clamp, just in case any visitors feel like borrowing it without permission.

The tent comes with optional hot water bottle plus sleeping bag, air-bed and plug socket.

So far the accommodation has received one review.

"Constance" wrote: "This is a special kind of tent. It is a comfortable bed. I really liked it. I swam in the sea in the morning with two lifeguards all to myself in high winds."

Miss Cyprien, a BSc Hons graduate in beauty and spa management, works as a customer relations officer at the Ministry of Waxing in Molton Street, Mayfair.

Shrugging off any suggestion the accommodation is a bit, well, basic, she said when she was young her mother kicked her out of the family home and she would have loved to have had somewhere similar to stay.

For those seeking a little more luxury, Miss Cyprien will allow guests to stay on an air-bed on the floor of her flat and share her toilet for £10 a night plus a £5 service fee.

But the height of luxury is a caravan parked in her back garden which offers complete privacy, a kitchen and bunk beds for two at £15 a night plus cleaning and service fees.
