Sheerness and Sittingbourne train line disrupted after emergency services called to trespass

Passengers faced delays after emergency services were called to a trespass on the railway.
All trains running between Sittingbourne and Sheerness are were disrupted for more than an hour.
At around 9am, Southeastern posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, warning passengers that there had been an incident on the railway.
Replacement buses were set to run from around 9.30am as a result.
However, at 10.36am normal train service resumed.
A spokeswoman from Southeastern confirmed it was due to a trespass.
She added: “The 10:23 service from Sittingbourne to Sheerness will depart as soon as the line reopens.
“The next train from Sheerness to Sittingbourne will be the 10:47 service, though this will be delayed departing.”
