Five arrests in murder probe after man shot dead at holiday park in Eastchurch on the Isle of Sheppey

Two more people have been arrested following the death of a man at a holiday park.

Sam Petrou, 35, died after being shot at Cliff Cottage Chalet Park in Fourth Avenue in Eastchurch, Sheppey on Sunday morning.

Five people have since been arrested as part of the murder investigation.

A 42-year-old man from London and a 35-year-old woman from Newcastle upon Tyne have both been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder.

Officers had previously arrested three other suspects, two men and a woman, who are all currently bailed with conditions to return to a police station on September 11.

Tributes have been paid to Mr Petrou, who was living in south east London at the time of his death, on social media since his passing.

His dad, Nick Petrou, said: “He was so loved – the amount of posts and heartfelt comments people have put up of him has blown me away.

“I would like to thank each and everyone of you from the bottom of my broken heart.”

Police are still requesting anyone who may have been travelling through Eastchurch between 7.30pm and 9pm on Saturday, June 10, to check any dashcam footage which may assist the investigation.

They are looking to identify the movements of people or vehicles in the Warden Road and Fourth Avenue areas.
