An animal rescue car was broken into overnight.
Equipment was stolen from The Kent Wildlife Rescue Service ambulance in Victoria Street, in Isle of Sheppey.
The group tried to help rescue the 50ft-long sperm whale which found itself in Kent waters this week.
It is reported the thieves took a sat nav which the organisation used to find locations to help animals.
The owners said four torches, restraining and sea rescue equipment and a dry suit were also taken.
Posting on Facebook, Twiggy Hawes said the group were "gutted".
Residents have been offering to donate replacement equipment and money.
