Leysdown Carnival takes place today (Saturday) and more than 1,400 people are expected to watch the parade this year.

The fun starts from about 10am on the Spinney with stalls, entertainment, refreshments, a village fete and displays. There will also be a carnival parade which will start at 3pm.

There will be road closures until 5pm along the route from the boot fair field along Leysdown Road down The Promenade and back up again.
