Armed police carried out a search following reports of a disturbance involving weapons.

Several officers carrying guns were seen around Leysdown after being called to Park Avenue yesterday at 3.30pm.

Armed units were called in to assist patrols after it was reported weapons were seen.

However, police said no one was arrested.

A police spokesman said: “Officers carried out a thorough area search but found no evidence to suggest any offences had been committed.”
